Low Life is defined as having 35% or less health remaining. This state can be achieved by reserving 65% (or more) HP.

The problem with maintaining that amount of reserved health is whenever you obtain new gear or spend/adjust skill points, you could be modifying your health pool, bringing yourself out of this Low Life state, or causing more health to be reserved than necessary.

Using gems with a flat percent of reserved mana, one can maintain precisely 65% health reserved by supporting it with a Blood Magic and/or Reduced Mana gem, and/or Reduced Mana Reservation nodes from the Passive Skill Tree, across several permutations.

Below are the permutations for a few reserved mana gem combinations, most of which are Auras. (There is currently only one 30% reserved mana gem, Hatred, and one 25% reserved mana gem, Tempest Shield.)

Note: There are four Reduced Mana Reservation nodes -- each 5%, which is the same as a 95% multiplier. These nodes are not added, but multiplied together.

Permutations with 30% reserved mana gem

Within a single row, multiply all the Multiplier columns together, then multiply that number by 30% to get 65%. (Rounding errors may occur.)

Reduced Mana Gem Reduced Mana Reservation Blood Magic Gem
Level Multiplier # Nodes Multiplier Level Multiplier
0 1.00 0 1.00 11 2.18
0 1.00 1 0.95 7 2.29
1 0.90 0 1.00 2 2.42
2 0.89 0 1.00 1 2.45

Permutations with 25% & 30% reserved mana gems

Within a single row, multiply all the Multiplier columns together, then multiply that number by 55% to get 65%. (Rounding errors may occur.)

19 0.72 4 0.81 17 2.03
20 0.71 4 0.81 16 2.05

Permutations with 40% reserved mana gem

Within a single row, multiply all the Multiplier columns together, then multiply that number by 40% to get 65%. (Rounding errors may occur.)
