Hey Diamond, Eternal and Unique Item Creator Supporters,

Release! As I hope you all know, the game released last week. It was a very busy time. Getting everything for release was truly a down-to-the-wire situation, with fixes being made up until the last possible moment.

The response since release has been fantastic. We have had many new players, very few issues, and a growing body of positive feedback.

Today we are working on getting a small patch out to fix some problems, most notably the aura effect stat from passives not transitioning with the auras between areas.

1.0.0 Uniques

We had three Supporter Uniques go out in the release patch, along with the uniques specific to the new leagues. Rory writes some words about the creation and planning behind these items:

Immortal Flesh

This item came from the theme of a legendary man who was nearly invulnerable physically, but was very weak to magic. The flavour text that was written for the item and inspired by the supporter’s original text later became the focus of the theme behind the four league-only unique rings. If you place the items in this order, you get the full legend of Berek: Immortal Flesh, Berek’s Pass, Berek’s Grip, Berek’s Respite, The Taming

Because of this, it made perfect sense to release the item in 1.0.0 alongside the rings!

Dyadus

Built around the theme of dragon twins, this item is a pseudo-set item; The items are designed to be powerful both on their own, and open up new uses when two copies are worn.

Cloak of Defiance

This item was always meant to introduce a mana-shield like mechanic to the game, and the supporter and I had many long discussions about how to go about this. We eventually found a way that wasn’t too powerful and didn’t make Eldritch Battery users completely invulnerable when taking it.

We liked the idea enough to turn it into a keystone. The item became the first and likely only item to have the Mind over Matter keystone, and sits along Ghost Reaver as a unique item that inspired a keystone. Because of this, it was natural that both Mind over Matter and Cloak of Defiance enter the game together.

The next content update should contain at least three uniques. Hopefully we’ll give you an update next newsletter.
