WOW!

Looks impressive, but... I think I'm out now. Transformed the new table structure to de* today and it seems that most of the new templates etc again are not accessable cross-language (noticed with the new 'header' template, which first worked not at all, and then (copied) did not get the background colour). Since I guess (and it seems that) the new styles are spread over the whole wiki, I really cant and wont imagine to adapt all this one-by-one manually; and even less under the still very annoying login problems. --Mr.Cee (talk) 16:51, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I'm still chasing people to get those *very* annoying issues resolved. I'll shoot you a pm on the forum when they are. You've been a huge help on this site, so I hope you'll come back when it's all resolved. Iamacyborg (talk) 17:36, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
The header template includes a class that needs to be added to MediaWiki:Common.css. -- Wynthyst talk 17:41, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Seems that the new layout transformed well for the german sites too, didnt looked into the depth for now. Thanks! --Mr.Cee (talk) 08:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Now for the details: (Of course,) the change only affects the general style of the site (the look), and not the coded formatting, like the header template. Can somebody explain to me, what causes this general change? Is it just setting beside/behind the site's code?--Mr.Cee (talk) 08:51, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Yep, the change was a CSS skin only, there was no change to the underlying HTML structure of the website itself. The change was applied through a modification of the Vector.css files which affect the way the website displays. This can be done in one of two ways, either changing Mediawiki:Vector.css or actually changing the files that are in the /skins folder. Iamacyborg (talk) 19:29, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Quest Templates

I've been working on a template for the Quest Rewards (Template:Quest Rewards Row and Template:Quest Rewards Top. They work as intended, from your page you can call upon the template with a variable and you get the table row on your page, but all the information is currently implemented in the template. I was thinking about using wiki categories to make it automatically generate the info like a database, but I'm not sure if that could work. --Splinturr (talk) 09:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

The category system in wiki software doesn't actually work in the way you are thinking. There are ways to use wiki templates to store data which can then be output in various ways by formatting templates, but it's quite complicated and requires careful planning. For now, we should just focus on putting up all the static information we can since the wiki is far from complete. —Vinifera7 (talk) 10:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
I was afraid that would be the case. We have to find a way to verify all the rewards though, because some aren't filled in on the Quest Rewards page but are filled in on the Quest page itself. Maybe get the info from the Google Doc that's floating around? --Splinturr (talk) 10:51, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Time To Reorganise?

We've got a whole load of new pages that could be really useful to link from the homepage, and I think a general tidy is in order anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they'd like to see or how they'd like to see it formatted? Curse produced that beginner's guide video that could fit really well on the homepage as well. Iamacyborg (talk) 19:35, 8 February 2013 (UTC)

Reoganisation of the main page: depends on inagionation about amount and structure of the new content to make a guess... In de.* I already moved non-item related links from the left side to the Wraeclat general section righthands (like suggested some time ago). I'm not sure about the "future" of the Item Affix and Modifiers pages, seems to be a redunant topic to me, even for the actual slightly different content. Beginner video: probably add to the arpb guide/introduction page, or if there is more to come, an own tutorials page like I use in de.* ? --Mr.Cee (talk) 12:04, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
I think there should be a link to more information about the difficulties on the main page. Grysh (talk) 15:59, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
The classes section is way too big. Class is fairly non-important in this game, this isn't diablo II where class is everything. I imagine people come to the wiki looking for a very specific piece of information, the main page try to make it easy for people to find what they're looking for. I would do something like this: User:Malice/Proposed_main_page. There might be better ways of laying it out but I like the idea of having all the main stuff linked there. There's a lot of red links there but a lot of them could be filled by re-directs. I'm going to write a bunch of articles to fill the rest soon. — Malice (talk) 17:03, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
I like it, but it needs something to break up the text. Looks incredibly intimidating for a newcomer like that I think. Iamacyborg (talk) 22:23, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Yeah it is pretty dense, but at least everything is available there and bot buried behind multiple clicks. I'm too busy updating the skill pages right now to design a sexy main page. — Malice (talk) 13:31, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
It really needs an update soon though, the most prominent links (classes and boss monsters) are either not terribly useful, or mainly just copy-pasted text from the website. I'd wager most visitors come to see the gem leveling tables, investigate certain mechanics, or find out how to get past tree roots - not read duplicated flavour text from the official site. — Malice (talk) 13:41, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Unique List

Please put a link to the Full Uniques List after the Unique Items link. I bookmarked it anyway, but I think the main page ought to have links to the most frequently accessed things. General information about uniques in the game is nice, but I think people would most often be looking for the complete list. CaleGibbard (talk) 06:33, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

Hey, looking at Google Analytics it looks like the full index isn't any more popular than the individual pages, so I'm not sure it's worth putting on the homepage. Particularly as it's fairly prominently placed on the Unique Items page. Iamacyborg (talk) 10:18, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Quivers

A link to Quivers needs to be added to this page.--FaceLicker (talk) 15:29, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

@font-face

Fontin, the font used in the game, allows for web embedding. It's free of charge [1], if I'm reading this correctly. Could an admin add the @font-face declaration to the CSS file for the item info boxes? --Folivor (talk) 05:16, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Would it be possible to upload the font files, Iamacyborg? If so, I can handle the css. —Vinifera7 (talk) 05:54, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
