Contraband
Items dropped from Heist are considered Contraband , which Contraband is dropped if you die or leave a Heist in any way other than an Extraction Point. (In this in-game help text , Contraband means the loot, not the contraband indicator of the item.)
Player cannot carry Contraband out of Heist via logout or re-spawn in town or checkpoint. By doing so, the loot would be drop on the ground instead. Player can remove the contraband indicator from the item via the exit of the Heist and Grand Heist.
Player character can re-enter the Heist if it is not in lockdown, pick up the Contraband and then escape, or further explore the Heist.
However, player character cannot re-enter the Heist if the lockdown is triggered by full alert (or other causes to prevent re-entering, such as the instance is expired, etc.), thus the player may risk permanently losing the Contraband as loot if they die or logout before escape from the Heist and Grand Heist successfully.
