I'm somewhat active in game wikis and fandoms when I play the game and it's complex enough for me to theorycraft it.
When I gather data I usually just test stuff in game and maybe put some math in.
Although I'm a programmer I have never datamined anything from a game.
I'm a relatively new Path of Exile player, who started in archnemesis.
I've got over 1000 hours in the game already, although most were spend afk and being available for trade or theorycrafting and reading about game mechanics.
I'm a huge applied math nerd.
