The orb consumes the item's quality, but does a higher quality yield a higher chance? Is there any info on how exactly it affects this? Acidicninja (talk) 14:35, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

The intention implied around the time of the announcement is that higher quality gives higher chances, but I don't believe they ever stated specific chances. Fusing is so random that you would need a LOT of testing to get a precise idea of how significant the quality bonus is, let alone how slightly different quality bonuses might vary from each other. --Qetuth-(talk) 23:41, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

A formula describing the chances to connect sockets was added today. However, it seems highly inaccurate, according to the formula, the chance to 6-link an item with an orb of fusing would be 1/32, meaning that you the average number of fusings needed to 6L an item is 32. However, Vorici crafting asks for 1500 fusings and player marked assumes the price of a 6L to about 1000 fusings on standard (25 ex), which is quite different. --DarkUnknown (talk) 19:51, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
