Bug?

Note that the quality effect does not apply to Auras like the gem's main effect. The quality effect is the same as "Reduced Mana Cost" passives in the skill tree.

I think it's by design. There is a difference between "Reduced Mana" and "Reduced Mana Cost". Reduced Mana affects both "Mana Reserved" and "Mana Cost". Reduced Mana Cost (The gem's quality) however does not affect "Mana Reserved". --Goliath (talk) 15:01, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
It is by design.

"The main effect of the gem is the mana cost multiplier (we need to find a better name for these). This as with the multipliers on all supports, affect both mana costs and mana reservation amounts.

The quality bonus is a stat which reduces mana costs. It does not apply to mana reservation, only costs. As I mentioned in another thread, I've suggested to Carl that we could add reservation reduction to the quality bonus as well, but I have no idea of the balance implications of that. We'll see." - Mark_GGG [ bold mine ]
