Magic, rare and unique monsters have the following, increasing more with each rarity [1]:
- Increased Life
- Increased Damage
- Increased Experience
- Increased Drop Rarity & Quantity
- Increased Flask Charges Granted
- Reduced chance to flee
Monsters of higher rarity also drop items of higher Item Level.
