Tricks

Using Harvest to juice Delirium

If you have a space-efficient garden, you can save it until you a Delirium spawns and then bulk harvest to get a lot more out. I'm consistently exceeding 5 rewards thanks to this trick. And with the spawn rate of Delirium now its quite common that you will have a full garden ready by when you encounter one, so it's pretty efficient.

Defensive Spectres

Buffs listed below affect You!

They of Tul (Tul Breach)

Aura with 15% reduced Damage taken, 20% Dodge, 20% Spell Dodge

Ruins Hellion (Act 8 Quay)

Warcry with 30% less Damage taken

Easy Fortify for Casters

Run a Caster Sceptre/Staff and use a Mace/Staff Large Cluster Jewel for Overlord, along with Vengeance (and/or Reckoning/Riposte). Fortify Support cannot be triggered, but sources from procs can.

Num Lock "Auto-Cast"

Set one of the spaces on your skill bar (it can even be in your secondary skill bar) to be activated with a key on your numpad. Then, whenever you enter a new zone, all you need to do is turn num lock on, hold down the skill (I usually need to press it twice), and then turn off num pad WHILE NOT LETTING GO OF THAT KEY. What this does is make the game assume you always have that key pressed. Then, as you’re mapping, just occasionally stop moving for a second, so that Enduring Cry doesn’t proc, and Rallying Cry will activate. Just know that this trick does not work if you your warcries are not instant which is the sole reason to go Battle Cry.

Movement "Auto-Cast"

Set an instant skill that you want permanent up-time up on Left Click (like Brand Recall). This will let you move and cast that skill at the same time.

Smoke Mine

Setting Detonate Mines to Left Click allows Smoke Mine to be used like any other movement skill, except with all of the benefits the skill itself offers (Free Blind, and Movement Speed).

Elusive Refreshment

Normally, Elusive outside of Withering Step is unable to be refreshed, but the following combo enable those other sources to be:

  • A non Withering Step source of Elusive
  • Cast when Damage Taken + Withering Step

What happens is the following... After proccing your Elusive initially and it begins to decay, if Withering Step procs any point after, it will be refreshed to 100% until your next action before disappearing. Then your normal source of Elusive will proc again, ad infinitum.

Rage Generation for Block Builds

Reckoning + Riposte + Rage Support means you can passively generate up to 5 rage per second while clearing, with sustain on bosses that hit even infrequently.

DD/VD Desecrate Trick

You can drastically increase the damage output of corpse explosion effects like Volatile Dead and Detonate Dead provided you're using Desecrate to proc them.

  1. Grab Spectres with the highest life multipliers available. These include Knitted Horrors, Kitava's Heralds and others.
  2. With the Spectres ready, go into your hideout and use Desecrate to spawn corpses of them.
  3. Bring the Spectres you have into the Map you will run.

The Spectres may die, but entering the map with them brings them into the Desecrate table. Now instead of the generic corpses that Desecrate spawns, you will have beefy corpses and damage increases of 200% or more. Between maps use the corpses in your hideout to spawn the Spectres to put back into the Desecrate table.

Champion Taunt Trick

Totems, Traps, Mines, VDS Doubles and The Saviour Doubles allow you to proc effects that count as you (but while also not counting as you). This means with a Champion using the Conqueror node, if they taunt, your character will get the benefit of "Enemies Taunted by you deal 10% less Damage with Hits and Ailments against other targets".

Punishment CWDT Trick

Punishment on CWDT will proc on the same hit that procs the CWDT itself, Meaning you get the Punisher buff without needing to be hit again by that mob.

Necromancer Spirit Offering Tank (nerfed)

Use two different gem links with:

  • CWDT LV1 + Desecrate
  • CWDT LV2 + Spirit Offering

This will almost guarantee that Desecrate procs before Spirit Offering while getting hit and even allow you to afk against most non-oneshot situations in the game depending on your Life pool. In my opinion it is superior to CWC proccing.

Passive Endurance Charge generation for Melee (Crit)

Anointing Smashing Strikes on an Amulet allows melee crit characters to gain endurance charges passively during combat.

Aisling Re-Veil Trick

If you are looking for a particular mod to unveil and don't want to chance buying random veiled mods, you can instead just buy an item that was brought to Aisling's bench which has the mod you need.

An is issue can be knowing whether it was from Aisling or not. This is most easily circumvented by buying items with two-veiled mods (containing the mod you want). These basically always come from Aisling so if you uncraft these and then re-veil them, you can un-veil them for the desired mod every time since the patch that made these deterministic.

Optimizing Chaos Recipe

When you are missing amulets for unid chaos recipe, you can essence/binding/alc white single-stat (Amber/Jade/Lapis) amulets (or ID rare ones) and then use the dual-stat amulet recipe (two different single-stat amulets + transmute) to turn it into an unid dual-stat amulet for the chao recipe if neither are good.

You can also do Coral/Paua ring + 7 Iron Rings (any rarity).

And for rings, do the prismatic ring (3 different two-stone rings) recipe the same way if you are missing rings, but i recommend only using essence/binding on them unless the alc:chaos ratio is good. Amulets are particularly good however because of the sheer number of sellable mod combinations.

Playtime efficiency optimization for Red Maps

Time management is a huge part of how I made 200c per hour from mapping in Harbinger League (the other parts being an optimal farming Atlas, a relatively fast build, and Bisco's Collar). It cannot be understated how much currency you lose out on when you waste time spending minutes between maps at endgame.

  1. Get a good filter. I recommend NeverSink 'Uber Strict' or anything at least as strict. Make sure that your filter is strict enough to warrant picking up everything that is on it, or don't use it without modifications.
  1. Put your Stash, Zana, and Navalli next to your Map Machine. The less you have to walk between them, the better.
  1. Set aside 2 Quad Tabs (or 8 normal Tabs) for dumping. After each map, dump your entire inventory contents into these Tabs with Control + Left Click. You should spend no more than 15 seconds in your hideout between maps.
  1. When all of these Tabs fill: identify, vendor, and sort every item in each Tab. The dump tabs tabs should be completely clear by the time you are finished. This should take between 10-15 minutes every 4-6 hours depending on the strictness of your filter.
