A portal is an entity that allows teleportation to and from the town in the act where it is created. A portal can be used several times from an instance to a town, but only once from a town to an instance, after which the portal disappears. Portals will automatically disappear after the instance they are linked to has expired. The expiration time for instances is 8 minutes for normal instances and 15 minutes for "hub" instances (instances that lead to more than one instance. Ex : Mud flats that lead to Fetid Pool and Submerged Passage). A portal will not expire as long as the instance it is linked to is prevented from expiring.
Two items allow the creation of portals : Portal scrolls and Portal gems.
Portal scroll
Portal scrolls are single-use items. They can be dropped by monsters, found in various containers or bought from NPCs for 3 Scrolls of Wisdom.
Portal gem
The Portal Gem is a very rare drop-only gem. It is a colourless gem and can be placed into any item socket. Every 1% Quality adds 3% Increased Cast Speed.
