The legacy modifiers of +1 to Level of Socketed Fire Gems, +1 to Level of Socketed Cold Gems were retained when upgrading the unique to its fated counterparts Frostferno. Thus creating this quasi-legacy variant. In advanced mod description mode, +1 to Level of Socketed Fire Gems, +1 to Level of Socketed Cold Gems, +2 to Level of Socketed Fire Gems, +2 to Level of Socketed Cold Gems are displayed as 4 separate mods.

Since Prophecy system is removed in version 3.17.0, this item's supply is capped (and before that capped by number of legacy in permanent leagues). It can only be acquired from players that own this item in the permanent leagues.

In a separate case, since all fated unique items were boss drop since ver 3.17 (and before all of them are removed from drop table in 3.19), none of them can be influenced. Before the removal of Prophecy, players can chance a Heatshiver from its base , and then upgrade it to Frostferno, for specific build such as or that required all equipped items are from the same influence.

Before the removal of the prophecy system in version 3.17.0, Frostferno was the fated version of . Version	Changes
3.19.0	Fated Uniques can no longer be acquired. The special modifiers on some Fated Uniques have been moved to the base version of that Unique. More information can be found in the Version 3.19.0#Rebalance of Unique Items section.
3.17.0	Removed the Prophecy mechanic from the game, and moved many of its rewards to other content. Fated Unique Items not mentioned explicitly in the version 3.17.0 patch notes now have a chance to drop from any endgame map boss. This is a temporary measure to maintain their availability. They will be moved to a new acquisition system in a future expansion.
