Warstaves (plural) or Warstaff (singular) is an item class of two-handed melee weapons that require strength and intelligence and usually have a x% Chance to Block Attack Damage while wielding a Staff implicit modifier as well as a moderately high base critical strike chance. This item class can not roll spell related ones.

Warstaves is considered as staves in terms of item mod effect, such as Warstaves' implicit #% Chance to Block Attack/Spell Damage while wielding a Staff

The staff is displayed in-game as "Warstaff". However, the clipboard text by using in-game Control + C function returns "Warstaves" as item class. Warstaves is also used in terms of item filter.

Warstaves can only roll attack modifier or modifiers that is not tied to attack or spell.

3.9.0	Item class has been renamed from "Warstaff" to "Warstaves".
3.8.0	Several Staves are now classified as Warstaves. Warstaves can no longer roll caster-related modifiers, while Staves retain their old mod generation behaviour.
3.7.0	The following staves can no longer roll spell-based mods such as added damage for spells or increased spell damage. Their base attack speeds have been slightly increased, and their damage decreased to compensate. These changes affect all existing versions of these basetypes, though they will not affect the mods those items currently have. Also some level requirements have changed I guess? Anyway, here you go: , , , , , , , and . The above staves will be swapped to a new "War Staff" weapon class in the near future to help differentiate them.
