These are the official patch notes for version 3.1.1b released by Grinding Gear Games.

• Fixed a bug where maps of greater than Tier 16 could be created. Invalid maps will now be treated as unshaped when used in the map device.

This has been deployed as a restartless patch. It won't require a realm shutdown, but the next time you restart your client it will update.
