Mechanics

• Vaal Caress applies the Onslaught buff for 20 seconds when the character uses a Vaal skill. The Onslaught effect will remain even if the item is removed.
• +5 to Level of Socketed Vaal Gems also applies to regular skills granted by Vaal Skill Gems.
• -5 to Level of Socketed Non-Vaal Gems does not apply to regular skills granted by Vaal Skill Gems. Gems have a minimum level of 1.

Vaal Caress can drop anywhere. It can be chanced. Vaal Caress belongs to a special group of unique items called league-specific items, which can be obtained from certain divination cards and other sources in addition to their normal acquisition methods.
