Once Open Beta starts I will be very, very busy. I work 12 hour days and in my spare time I plan on sleeping, playing a lot of Path of Exile, and updating the unique items list on the forum. It's twice as much work for me (and half as much play) to update the wiki in addition to that. I'll do my best to keep on top of things but if anyone would like to take control, please be my guest :) --FaceLicker (talk) 16:49, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

No worries, you've done loads so far, I'll pick up the slack where I can do! Iamacyborg (talk) 17:29, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Am I right in assuming that implicit mods like +resist all elements on shields should not be listed on this page? Ayro (talk) 13:27, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Probably best to leave them off, at least for the time being. Danny (talk) 14:28, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Editing the uniques.

Hey all, I just got a Unique Glove and came to check if its on here and it was. But the values I have on my glove are higher than the range listed.

My Aurseize Steelscale Gauntlets have 48% Increased Rarity when the range is 20-30 on the wiki. What's the SOP on this?

EDIT: Additionally the flavor text is wrong, it now reads "Wealth is not to be borne lightly." Hailjh (talk) 16:47, 25 January 2013 (UTC)|

Post on the forums so that facelicker is aware of new mods and update the stuff that needs updating! http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/12056 Iamacyborg (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
Many uniques have been re-balanced, and in many cases the flavour texts have been modified. What you could do is to add the new text and note the version next to it. Zharmad (talk) 18:13, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Wanderlust

Page:

   +5 to Dexterity
   20-40% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate
   100% Increased Energy Shield
   20% Increased Movement Speed
   Cannot be Frozen

Mine:

   +5 to Dexterity
24% Increased Mana Regeneration Rate <-- sucks, but fine
+20 Maximum Energy Shield <-- ...not sure if it's static or a range of values!
   20% Increased Movement Speed
   Cannot be Frozen

If someone finds another wonderlust with +20 I guess it's static.

You can find a Wanderlust with +13 Maximum Energy Shield in the forums --Goliath (talk) 02:38, 28 January 2013 (UTC)

Easter Eggs/Homages

Quite a few unique items could be considered to be easter eggs or homages to other series. Would it be worth adding a section at the bottom of the page to list these? For example, Terminus Est and Infractem being an anagram of Minecraft? Iamacyborg (talk) 19:49, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I don't see why not although most of these reference items are all created by Diamond Supporters who I'd like to create a dedicated section/page for anyway. One exception would be 'Facebreaker', created by Brotherlaz, an homage to his Median XL mod for D2. So.. I suppose an Easter Egg section is the way to go. --FaceLicker (talk) 21:07, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
The other route would be to make an individual page for each unique item, and put all that stuff in there. That could also be a good way to link to builds that can be built around certain items, like Facebreaker. Iamacyborg (talk) 21:17, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Individual pages is probably going to be ideal and was my originally my intention for unique items. The current format as is does not leave a lot of room to provide all the information we need to convey, it was merely a quick setup to get the basic info out there. With individual pages we can tailor the info to each item such as variable and fixed values, creator and/or easter egg info, build info, etc. The forum list is nearly complete so I'll get to work on this right away. Too bad my old item template is useless now thanks to GGG, lol.--FaceLicker (talk) 22:21, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
I'll get started on some of them too. We can always use Template:Item to display the item. Iamacyborg (talk) 22:28, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Sorting Uniques

I'd like to change the layout by splitting out 2 handers from 1 handers. ie there's no info on the unique swords if they are 1h or 2h. What do you think? I'm a novice when it comes to wiki editing so if someone more experienced feels obliged :) Pjar (talk) 12:55, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

I took care of that for you, Pjar.
Now, I have my own problem with sorting. Initially, I purposely refrained from adding Min-Max values to the unique items as I knew that it should be something left to each item's specific page. Adding Min-Max values to a sortable table as people are doing now screws up the sorting function. How can someone easily find the item with the highest Armor Value through a list values containing (30-100), (45-75), (10-20), (10-60)? A person could easily sort the list from lowest -> highest but not highest -> lowest. Or how about the list as it is now? It's starting to get sloppy and inaccurate. There's places where a base item value might be let's say 50 and originally had a listed mod of 50% increase to that value so the listed value in the table is 75 (50 + 50% = 75). Then someone changed the mod to reflect min-max values and it now says 20-100% increase, BUT the person left the listed value at 75 instead of 100 (50 + 100% = 100). This is just sloppy.
In order to make the table sort properly, another column would have to be added so that there would be two columns for each stat, a Min column and a Max column. This however would just make things even bulkier, uglier, and more intimidating. To me the only sensible option, and this is how the page was originally intended to look, would be to limit the values to ONLY the Max values. Leave the variable information and easter egg info and everything else to the individual item pages or categorized pages.--FaceLicker (talk) 20:55, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

Goldrim

Hey guys,

I traded a Goldrim with 40% resist all, so the cap is at least 40% and not 35%. Trying to edit the wiki but it's giving me errors.

Just try a few times, the unique article is a bit stubborn --Goliath (talk) 10:18, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I think it's just getting a bit too big for it's own good. We may need to break it up into multiple articles. Iamacyborg (talk) 10:29, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Proposal to break up the page

The page is getting just a bit too big for it's own good now, and is only going to keep on getting bigger. What does everyone think about moving armour and weapon types to their own individual pages? For example: Unique Swords? Iamacyborg (talk) 19:54, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

We could have both? The list of everything would include each of the divided pages. I like browsing the full list of uniques. -AnnanFay (talk) 07:52, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
I agree. We should have a way to view items together as well as individual pages. —Vinifera7 (talk) 08:38, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
What about making the "full view" page just like a gallery, moving the item stats out to type-separated pages? I dont think its useful (for update efforts) to have the full data twice. --Mr.Cee (talk) 08:47, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
The problem is that we're going to be listing 200+ unique items here eventually. It's not going to be a good user experience at all I don't think. We can keep as is for now and also create the separate pages, and see how big the whole list gets. I kind of like the way Uniques were shown on the Arreat Summit. Iamacyborg (talk) 09:09, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
I had something like that in mind. Rather than showing ALL OF THE THINGS on a single page, they can be broken down into pages like Unique Helmets or Unique Staves. —Vinifera7 (talk) 09:28, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
"It's not going to be a good user experience at all I don't think". It will be terrible user experience, the page will take ages to load and will be hard to find anything. However, under normal circumstances people would use the smaller sub pages. All searches made would link to the sub pages. Could even call it "Full Textual Index of Uniques (Long page load)" :P-AnnanFay (talk) 13:52, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
"I dont think its useful (for update efforts) to have the full data twice". We would only be having the data once but displaying it twice. "The list of everything would include each of the divided pages." By include I meant programmatic transclusion of the data. The data would only be stored once. -AnnanFay (talk) 13:47, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough, that seems to make a lot more sense. I'd also suggest changing the link on the homepage to be a general unique item page that links to the more specialised pages, the full list shouldn't be the main focus point. Iamacyborg (talk) 14:00, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Alright, building upon the Arreat Summit idea.. how about something like this: Unique Swords? Of course, it's just a rough copy so don't worry about the formatting too much.
We really do need to make subpages; one giant list containing hundreds of uniques just is not going to cut it. The only reason the Unique Items page looks as it does now is because it was relatively fast and easy to throw together when this Wiki was just starting out. Now we're into Open Beta and we have a lot of skilled editors working on the Wiki so there's no reason not to do it properly. I think the Arreat Summit format is a good basis for us to follow considering PoE's fanbase. Giving people something familiar to look at can only be beneficial for everyone I think.--FaceLicker (talk) 16:13, 11 February 2013 (UTC)

I've gone ahead and made Full Unique Index that transcludes all the sub pages. -AnnanFay (talk) 15:40, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Only real issue with the full index is that it includes the unique navbox. A solution would be to wrap <noinclude> tags around it in the sub pages. This will stop it being included in pages that include the sub pages. -AnnanFay (talk) 15:42, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Thanks AnnanFay! My next step was to create the Full List but I was unsure of how to do it, I'm glad you beat me to the punch--FaceLicker (talk) 15:46, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Unique "Skills gems in this item are support by ____" affects manacost

Source: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/313431#p2723268

Should this info be added here, on the unique items page, or both? --Lazyfulness (talk) 02:00, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Wow, I did not know that. Well, it should probably be explained on the main Unique Items page in the extra notes area, similar to how Mark_GGG explained it, and it should also be on the individual item pages but in more detail relevant to the specific mods. Good info, thanks for sharing.--FaceLicker (talk) 02:35, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

Quality and supported skills

Do we know how item quality affects the automatic supports inherent in unique items, for example Nycta's Lantern? Does using a Blacksmith's Whetstone also improve the quality of the inherent support? Iamacyborg (talk) 15:43, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

Quality increasing currency items are programmed to only increase certain stats. Whetstones will only increase local physical damage, scraps will only increase local defensive values, etc. Increasing quality has no effect on any other mods on items, the automatic supports are treated as 0% quality at the specified level. --FaceLicker (talk) 16:32, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! I think that info definitely needs to be posted somewhere, though I'm not sure yet which page would be the most relevant. Iamacyborg (talk) 07:55, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
The Quality page seems like an obvious choice. —Vinifera7 (talk) 08:03, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
Yep, I also think it could be worth mentioning it on the unique pages so people are aware that the skills are always 0% quality. Iamacyborg (talk) 09:06, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
A brief note could be added to the individual item pages where it would be relevant. —Vinifera7 (talk) 09:12, 15 April 2013 (UTC)

Legacy Uniques

I think it's worth adding legacy unique item stats on their respective pages. These items are still in the game so they need to be documented. What do you all think? Iamacyborg (talk) 13:58, 7 November 2013 (UTC)

Seems good to me, since legacy uniques are an actual thing. I can put together an example for Kaom's Heart. —Vini (t|c) 14:38, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Thanks! Iamacyborg (talk) 14:47, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Well here you go. I don't love it necessarily. Any ideas for how to lay it out better? Also note that I added the page to a category called Category:Unique items with legacy versions. —Vini (t|c) 14:53, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I don't love it either. There's got to be a more elegant way to do it. Possibly just as a table? last known version on one side, stats on the other. Categorisation is a smart move. Iamacyborg (talk) 15:13, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Here's the layout I envision:
Last version available Stats
Version 0.11.6g Has no Sockets
+1000 to maximum Life
Iamacyborg (talk) 22:52, 7 November 2013 (UTC)
Check Kaom's Heart. Does this seem good? Is there anything that should be changed? —Vini (t|c) 09:08, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
Nope, that looks perfect to me. Iamacyborg (talk) 10:09, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

Chance vendor recipe-only uniques

Does anyone know if it's possible to get The Taming or The Goddess Scorned using an Orb of Chance? - Climmels (talk) 16:06, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Not sure, my gut says no because they're explicitly only available via a vendor recipe, and I've not seen anyone post on either Reddit or the official forums that they've chanced one. But, I don't have any proof to say it's not possible. Iamacyborg (talk) 19:06, 5 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm about 99% certain that Charan's The Goddess Scorned cannot be chanced. I remember reading it on the forum somewhere. Charan was very adamant on that aspect of his weapon. - FaceLicker (talk) 14:11, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Sorting unique armor by type

Armor is sorted by attribute requirement (for example, Body armour is sorted by armor that requires Strength, then armor that requires Dexterity, and so on). The pieces of unique armor, however, are not sorted like that. I would like to suggest applying the same kind of sorting, based on attribute requirement, for all the unique armor pages. It would make it easier to find a piece of an unique armor that matches a given build. Testante (talk) 01:21, 24 July 2015 (UTC)

I have made an example at the list of unique helmets. Thoughts? Opinions? Testante (talk) 14:24, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
Since we can't really sort by random/explicit property, the main exception I can think of where someone might want to sort all of a category is block chance in shields. Otherwise I prefer it split up for readability. Also note these pages are transcluded eg List_of_unique_armour#Helmets - Although I'm guessing by the way you used the onlyinclude tags you realised this. I think that page looks fine this way also. --Qetuth-(talk) 04:26, 8 September 2015 (UTC)
Thank you for your opinion :) I think you do have a point, in that the shields are best left as they are. I have also changed the list of unique gloves while waiting to see if there are more opinions about this. Testante (talk) 23:22, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
I like the changes and wouldn't mind seeing them on all lists of unique armour items. :) --Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 07:26, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
Ditto! Iamacyborg (talk) 17:31, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

Unique Strongboxes are missing

A link to the unique strongboxes is missing, is this intended? The categories for the unique strongboxes is broken as well. I'm not familiar enough with the Item template to fix it though.--Illviljan (talk) 00:41, 21 January 2016 (UTC)

Are strongboxes considered as items? They do not to me. — Freeeeez aka TheFrz – 00:47, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Well, they can be chanced and they're using the Item template! I'm not sure if they deserve their own custom icon though but this is my go to page when I'm browsing for interesting uniques. --Illviljan (talk) 01:27, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
They're using the template, but they're definitely not a unique item in the same way that a weapon or a piece of armour are. I don't think it'd hurt to have a link on this page. Iamacyborg (talk) 09:55, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
Strongboxes are definitely not considered items, not by the game nor does it make sense. Strongboxes or rather chests (strongboxes are a subset of chests) in general should have their own template. I suggest making a generic "unique" disambiguation page, as unique may refer to unique monsters, unique items or strongboxes currently (and to some extend, perhaps also the unique areas unique maps use or other 'unique' mechanics) and then linking to that page. In the future there might also be more 'unique' mechanics. --OmegaK2 (t|c) 16:41, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
That approach makes the most sense. Iamacyborg (talk) 13:41, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

Descent-only uniques

I've noticed Descent-only uniques are being added in the pages next to the regular game's uniques. On one hand it can be seen as good to have the complete information in one place, but on the other hand it might not be a good idea to put those specific items alongside the regular uniques because it can cause people some confusion on whether they're actually in the game. Then again, having them showing might make people more interested in those racing events. Thoughts? --Domo (talk) 14:01, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

It's fine to list them, but they should be set apart in some way that distinguishes them as uniques that aren't in the normal game. —Vini (t|c) 15:40, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
The lists of uniques cold really do with a column for drop restrictions such as specific monster/area/league - Descent-only isn't the only group of uniques that don't randomly drop. --Qetuth-(talk) 02:27, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Adding league information to the Uniques

One thing that always bothers me is seeing an unique that would be perfect for a build... And then going to that unique's page and finding out it only dropped in a league that has ended.

I suggest adding league information to the unique item lists. I think the information could be added to the unique items infobox, so it could be easily displayed in the unique items lists.

What do you guys think? Testante (talk) 01:05, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

I think we already show 'DROP DISABLED' in the infobox for items that cannot drop. Of course, some items have other drop restrictions, which don't comport well to such a concise format. —Vini (t|c) 02:20, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
Exactly! In theory, many uniques from old leagues can still be obtained through Zana's map devices, by trading a divination card set, and etc, so they wouldn't fit the "drop disabled" notice. They are still significantly harder to acquire than uniques without those restrictions, though. Testante (talk) 02:40, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

New 'obtaining' section on unique item pages

I wasn't very happy with how inconsistently master prices, vendor sell values, prophecies, divination cards and vendor recipes are displayed on the individual item pages, so I got the idea to combine them under one standardized 'obtaining' section (similar to what the currency items have). See Moonbender's Wing for an example. In this section I also mentioned if the item is a regular random world drop or not, and if it can be chanced or not. Then, subsections for div cards, prophecies, vendor recipes and other ways of obtaining the item are added if applicable.

Thoughts?

--Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 15:53, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Looks good. We need to come up with a universal mockup that we can later use for all pages. Some parts can be easily replaced with templates (divination cards for instance).
I think 'Obtaining' should be 'Aquisition' and vendor price is not a part of it, {{Item price}} should be used instead. Also claiming that the only way to get a league-specific unique is to use a Leaguestone is not correct, the rule is still the same: an area must have a specific mod, when Leaguestones is just another way to get that mod. For example, other ways are Zana's device, events (leagues and races) and so on. We need to describe it somewhere, e.g. area. — thefrz — 17:59, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Very nice indeed. I agree with your suggestions. I've made some of my own changes too. Please review. —Vini (t|c) 03:15, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
Looks good. A separate section for chancing is a good idea. --Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 08:44, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback! If I'm not mistaken, Zana can no longer craft league effects on map areas, no? But it's probably more future-proof to do it your way. And for the vendor price, I just put it under the vendor section because it's kinda out of place right now. It's not important enough to be at the top of the page, but I'm not sure where else to put it. --Climmels aka SirProblematique (talk) 08:44, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

"Chanceable" Flag for each unique Item

Would it be a good idea to have a "is Chanceable" Flag (type boolean) for each unique item? So automatically lists can be created that list all items that can be chanced or even not. A Flag like this would make the unique items a bit more mashine readable. - January 2018(UTC)
