Um, what's the math behind emberwake requiring SIXTY burn stacks to do more damage? Shouldn't that be six stacks? --Fambida (talk) 11:07, 15 September 2016 (UTC)

First of all it's not clear what "more damage" means in this situation: is it overall dps or just burning dps? Nevertheless it's overly challenging to get a correct answer for any of these problems since there are too many variables and conditions in the damage formula. Thus one can come up with a solution that covers an ordinary example but it is not going to be applicable to the overwhelming majority of in-game situations, and accordingly is far from the truth. So in my opinion it doesn't make sense to put such statement like that at all but instead there should be an example that solves some kind of a problem. But it makes sense to directly ask User:Mynijo what he meant because he is the one who added this info — Freeeeez aka TheFrz — 16:04, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Hi, with more dmg I mean more burnig dmg from the ignite. If your normal ignite do 100 burnig damge, you need at least 60 ignite stacks to do more burnig dmg with the ignite. Mynijo — 21:38, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
Considering the large variance of circumstances surrounding burn damage, I'd recommend we not mention the 60 stacks part unless we can actually show or link to concrete math behind that statement. It is not useful to give only one set of circumstances (such as the 25% increased fire damage) because that would only apply to a very small subset of characters. Emberwake itself has a range of 15-25% after all. —Domo (t|c) 05:10, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
If we only look on an empty charater with nothing. Just the ability to ignite. And look after that on the same charater with an Emberwake. We need to stack the ignite 60 times to get the same dmg. After that each stack is additional dmg. For example: A normal ignite do X dmg. One stack with the Emberwake do Y dmg (X/80*i). I(%) = increased fire damage from the ring.If i = 25% -> X = Y * 60. Your math is wrong anyway, it's not X/80 but X*0.2. See the formula on stat page. — Freeeeez aka TheFrz — 13:43, 16 September 2016 (UTC)

Ignite Duration

"Elemental Ailments other than Freeze are no longer discarded if their duration is lower than 300ms." (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3385428) Jess (talk) 04:42, 4 May 2023 (UTC)

All Damage can Ignite [3.23]

I forgot to check if the alt text mentions it but from what I've read, this means a couple of things.

  • All damage, even if excluding Fire, can inflict Ignite, but it depends on your chance to ignite which is not included in this modifier.
  • All damage contributes to the damage of the Ignite, or in other words, all damage is added up in the calculation, but I think the damage of the ignite is still only fire damage.
  • There exists a similar modifier for Poison.
  • This functions similarly if you have a mod like Cold or Lightning damage can inflict ignite.
