Clarification for the relation between keywords "spell" & "cast"

Spells which deal damage that isn't Spell Damage get the "Cast" tag instead of the "Spell" tag to indicate this, because a while ago players locked onto the "Spell" tag as being to them an indication of spell damage specifically rather than anything else and wanted it removed from those skills. - Mark_GGG on "The "Cast" Tag + Herald of Ice/Thunder" in Feedback

I have edited the keyword descriptions accordingly. - Ezhiel (talk) 12:43, 27 October 2014 (UTC)

Page rename

When was it agreed on that we should rename Keyword to Skill Gems by Keyword? I'm not aware of any consensus among editors in favor of this change. —Vini (t|c) 22:33, 17 April 2015 (UTC)

Given the lack of any other text regarding the name change on this discussion page, plus the release of several items that have inherent skills of their own, perhaps this page should be renamed to Skills by Keyword? It does not appear there was any consensus among editors to change this page's title the first time, but perhaps it can be changed again and finalized? — Domo (talk) 02:15, 01 April 2016 (UTC)
In order to decide what the page should be named, it's important to determine what purpose is served by the page. As it stands, this page includes other information besides "Skills by keyword". —Vini (t|c) 03:14, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
I think it should be renamed to "List of skill gems by gem tag" as to have consistency with other pages that list things. Furthermore the use of "keyword" is a bit wrong, since the game refers to them as gem tags. I believe the old "keyword" pages should just redirect to a "gem tag" equivalent though. Skills without an appropriate skill gem entry can't have tags actually. --OmegaK2 (t|c) 07:51, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

Regarding item-based skills

How do we want to add in Gluttony of Elements from the Blood of Corruption amulet, Icestorm from The Whispering Ice, and other such skills that are only obtained by wearing items? These are not obtained by using skill gems and thus a bit odd in a page called "Skill Gems by Keyword." If the page was renamed "Skills by Keyword" then having them in the respective places based on their keywords would work fine.

If item-based skills do get supported that way on this page, should we make a note by them saying they come from a certain item? What format would be acceptable for current and future item-only skills? — Domo (talk) 02:15, 01 April 2016 (UTC)

Regarding Vaal skills without "Vaal" in their name

Gluttony of Elements is a Vaal skill that does not have Vaal in its name. As such it has sometimes been put in the normal skill sections for keywords instead of the Vaal skill sections of each keyword. If it does make it into the skills by keyword page, I propose having the formatting be: "(Vaal) Gluttony of Elements." That way it is clear it's a Vaal skill and it can be sorted alphabetically with the other Vaal skills. What are other editors' thoughts? — Domo (talk) 02:15, 01 April 2016 (UTC)

Keyword as a redirect to this page

I think the redirect should be removed. hexproof is a keyword according to GGG, so gem tag is a kind of keyword but not all keyword are gem tag. Neokowloon (talk) 21:49, 10 July 2020 (UTC)

Key word has been incorrectly used as gem tag description previously. Did you go through all pages that link to keyword and fix them?--OmegaK2 (t|c) 06:43, 11 July 2020 (UTC)
