Shore Map (War for the Atlas) is a map area based on the tileset from The Coast (Act 1).

Layout

The layout is a wide rectangular zone with multiple terraces. Two of the sides are warded off by cliffs, and one side is blocked off by the open sea. The third edge slowly descends towards a beach. The boss doesn't have a separate arena, but waits near a shipwreck at the beach.

Belcer, the Pirate Lord, based on Fairgraves Eternal.

  • Uses Spectral Throw with 4 projectiles
  • Casts Summon Raging Spirit
  • At 50% health spawns a Tormented Bootlegger
  • At 25% health spawns a Tormented Buccaneer
  • Creates Pirate Lord's Treasure when killed

Tormented Bootlegger is a Tormented Spirit. When absorbed by Belcer:

  • gains power charges on hit
  • throws a small bouncing fire bomb in random direction

Tormented Buccaneer is a Tormented Spirit. When absorbed by Belcer:

Pirate Lord's Treasure is a medium quantity chest that spawns a pack of Pirate Lord's Crewman skeletons when opened.

  • Many map bosses have also shifted around. Some have been retired and replaced!

  • The entire Atlas has been reworked. Many map names have changed, as have their balance, tier and position on the Atlas. Many maps have also had their boss fights swapped or completely reworked.
  • The rules used to generate monsters in endgame maps have been significantly reworked and rebalanced around the rate at which we expect players to reliably clear out the map. In general, narrow, linear maps will contain fewer total monsters than maps with complex layouts. We will be closely monitoring and adjusting the balance of this change and expect to make further changes and improvements over time.
