Mechanics

Shield Shatter: On block, triggers a spell that deals physical damage in an area. Damage of the spell scales with shield quality. After blocking, it applies a buff that grants added spell physical damage per shield quality, but causing the user to be unable to block and gain no defenses from the equipped shield.
