Shakari, Queen of the Sands is a minor pantheon goddess and optional boss in Act 9 found in a side area of The Oasis, The Sand Pit. She is the daughter of Garukhan, Queen of the Winds and Sin.
Quest
Shakari must be defeated to complete Queen of the Sands, which awards the player with 1 passive skill point.
Abilities
The fight consists of three phases. For the first 25% life, she can burrow under the sand, use her tail to cleave and apply caustic ground, and a telegraphed stinger attack which inflicts poison.
After she reaches 75%, she will burrow under the sand and become invulnerable. The player must run through a narrow gauntlet while dodging quicksand and Shakari's Upheaval skill (similar to
Sunder). Several weaker scorpion enemies spawn along the path. She will attack the player if nearby, stopping at fixed locations to use Upheaval a few times.
Upon reaching the final arena, she will use the skills from her first phase, as well as a dive-jump combo under the sand, and an immunity phase where she uses Upheaval from the center of the arena while spawning scorpion enemies.
Pantheon powers
Defeating Shakari unlocks a minor god power in the Pantheon screen. This power can be upgraded by defeating a specific map boss and capturing their soul. See The Pantheon § Upgrading.
