This effect is similar to that of the Blood Magic keystone, but without setting maximum mana to zero. The item, in fact, imitates the defunct Blood Magic Support gem with its inherent ability (id: SupportBloodMagicUniquePrismGuardian). This shield effectively provides almost the full function of Arrogance and Lifetap, and with 100% cost multiplier (reservation multiplier / Reservation Efficiency see below). Note that the item does not grant Lifetap buff, just the skill cost life instead of mana part of the Lifetap Support, nor giving increased aura effect likes Arrogance Support. The unique item has better reservation efficiency and cost multiplier unlike the current gems variants, in exchange of no Lifetap buff or increased aura effect.

• Reservation Efficiency: Socketed Gems have 30% increased (Life) Reservation Efficiency. This effect is additive with other Reservation Efficiency modifiers from passive skills or items. However, if that mod is specific to Mana Reservation Efficiency, then that mod does not affect the gem socketed in Prism Guardian. The modifier, in fact supports the socketed skill gem(s) with hidden unique support SupportReducedReservationUniquePrismGuardian.

The 25% mod value in the mod Socketed Gems have 25% increased Reservation Efficiency is a cosmetic value. The legacy item still 30% increased the Reservation Efficiency of the socketed gem.

3.16.0	The basetype defence values have changed to (156-179) Armour (from 156 Armour), (32-37) Energy Shield (from 30 Energy Shield) If not mentioned below, all sources that previously provided reduced reservation, including for specific skills or types of skills, now provide increased mana reservation efficiency at twice the value of the reduced reservation they used to give. Modifiers on existing items are affected by these changes. Items that previously caused socketed gems to have reduced reservation have been balanced separately to other reservation efficiency effects. They still provide generic reservation efficiency rather than mana reservation efficiency, but generally have values lower than double the amount of reservation reduction they used to provide. Existing items will be updated to the functionality and values stated below, but will still display the old values unless updated with a Divine Orb. Prism Guardian now grants "Socketed Gems have 30% increased Reservation Efficiency", instead of "Socketed Gems have 25% reduced Reservation".
