Oil
An oil is a currency item that can be acquired from Blight encounters. Using them on certain items gives these items an anointment, which can modify them in various ways.

Oils can be applied by the player via Cassia, to blighted maps, rings, amulets or blight unique items in order to add an enchantment modifier to the item that have different effects based on the item type:

- Blighted maps can have up to three anointments at a time. blight-ravaged maps can have up to 9, with up to 3 of the same anointment. Multiple copies of the same oil are additive. (Example - 3 clear oil anointments with 10% reduced monster movement speed gives a total of 30%).
- Anointments on equipment take up the enchantment slot. They share a same slot with legacy Labyrinth enchantments.
- You can acquire non-unique amulets with two anointed passives from Blight-ravaged maps.
- Corruption - Corrupting an item with an anointment causes it to retain its anointments, even if the outcome causes it to change its rarity. If the item had extra anointments, those will also be retained, even though it lost the modifier that allowed it to receive additional anointments. However, applying a new anointment without these modifiers will cause it to lose all its extra anointments.
- Allocated passive nodes on the Amulet behave as if the node were taken manually. In other words, socketing a Timeless Jewel and anointing a passive node will grant the new, transformed modifiers. It will not grant the old, original modifiers. You cannot allocate a Passive Mastery that is on the same passive cluster with the anointed notable, as it is not connected to your passive tree.

- Anointment order - There are 13 regular oils, combinations allow the use of the same oil more than once, and the order does not matter. All the notable passives which grant +30 to an attribute do not have an associated recipe.

Cowl of the Cryophile, Cowl of the Thermophile, and Cowl of the Ceraunophile can have up to two anointments, while Stranglegrasp can have up to four anointments.
If a corruption results in turning these into a Rare item, they will retain their anointments. , it is possible to turn them into a different unique item of the same base item that normally cannot have anointments, or in the case of Stranglegasp, cannot have more than two anointments. Applying a new anointment to non-Blight uniques will cause them to lose any extra anointments beyond the default for their equipment type.
