Before the Goddess of Justice, you are worthy. Embrace our gifts. And rise, ascendant.. for there's nothing quite so enticing... as ascendancy. Oh.
Legacy of Phrecia is an event. In this event, the original 19 ascendancy classes are replaced with more unusual ascendancy classes that are "whacky ideas that never quite made it off the brainstorm board"[1], and the Atlas passive skill tree is replaced with the Idol system.
Legacy of Phrecia was originally scheduled to end on March 23, 2025, but was extended to April 23.[2]
Details
- The regular ascendancy classes are replaced with the following ascendancy classes below.

- The Atlas passive skill tree is not available. Instead, players can acquire Idols, which can be placed on the Map Device to gain passives that grant effects similar to Atlas passives.
- Idols can be Magic, Rare, or Unique. Rare Idols can have up to 4 modifiers, and many Unique Idols have effects equivalent to Atlas keystone passives or the Extra Content disabling notables. Idols are Unmodifiable.
- Idols can be placed on the Map Device on a 6x7 grid for Idols, which have some spaces blocked off. This functions similarly to the Relic Altar.
- Kingsmarch contains an additional upgrade for the Black Market that allows Idols to be purchased. The Recombinator can recombinate Idols at Rank 3.
Ascendancy classes
Default ascendancy classes are replaced while the Legacy of Phrecia flag is active. Characters that migrate out of the event will be assigned a default ascendancy and have their ascendancy passive skills respecced.

Trivia
- The name and introduction of this event, "to commemorate the great Emperor and the inspiration he gave us", may be a nod to a series of Path of Exile community memes involving the titular Emperor Izaro Phrecius shortly before the announcement of this event[5][6].
- Izaro's introduction speech in the trailer video is composed of several of his voicelines spliced together.
