Resource management
Recruitment
Recruit workers to delegate other tasks in Kingsmarch. Workers can be hired for an initial Gold cost as well as an hourly wage. Each worker can have one or more specializations, but their wage is based on their highest-paying job. For jobs of the same tier, wages increase in order with Mining being the lowest, then Smelting, Shipping, Farming, Disenchanting, and finally Mapping. The Recruitment interface accessed through Raulf, the Recruiter also allows players to reroll the current listing of hireable recruits, and your current roster of workers. Each job rank provides an approximate 30-50% more multiplier to their job's perk (e.g. job speed) or provides additional risk reduction from the previous rank, in the case of Shipping or Mapping. However, wages increase faster than job speed, so it's best to only hire rank 1's for mining, smelting, farming and disenchanting and keep upto their maximum amounts (12, 12, 18 and 6 respectively) and only have high ranks for shipping and mapping. With miners and smelters, if they run out of their designated resource, they will automatically process another, so feel free to concentrate them all into the resource you want the quickest.
The improved Reroll unlocked at Rank 11 guarantees that the workers listed for recruitment have Rank 6 or higher for all of their job specialties. This may be favourable to more obtain high-rank Shippers or Mappers, but also has a higher chance of causing workers who specialize in multiple jobs to have a higher wage, making them unfavourable for cheaper jobs such as Mining.

Mining
Mining can be delegated to your Miner workers to collect raw ores from ore deposits found in Wraeclast and maps. Resources mined from maps are affected by area item quantity at a reduced rate.[1]
If no marked ore deposits that are designated to a Miner are available, they will automatically mine another available ore type.

Smelting
Smelting can be delegated to your Smelter workers to refine raw ores into refined bars, another type of resource.
If no ores designated to a Smelter are available, they will automatically smelt another available ore type.
If a player needs to retain some ore to upgrade their town, they can temporarily remove all Smelters from their work to prevent automatically converting it into Bars.

Disenchanting
Equipment can be disenchanted by Disenchanter workers in real-time to be converted into a resource known as Thaumaturgic Dust. The disenchanting menu is 12 x 10 inventory slots. Disenchanters reduce the time to disenchant an item based on their rank.
- For non-unique items, the item's item level, modifier tiers, and other factors contribute to an item's Thaumaturgic Dust value.
- For uniques, items with higher unique item tier, drop level, and item level have a higher Thaumaturgic Dust value.
The time it takes to disenchant an item is determined by its item level.

Shipping
Ship Crew can board ships to send resources out to ports in exchange for rewards. A minimum of 100 shipment value is required to ship, with a maximum of 50,000,000. Increasing the shipment value also correlates with the risk of encountering negative outcomes during its voyage; the rank and number of Ship Crew directly buffers your risk.

Rewards
Favoured Resources (aka "Port Quotas"):
Favoured Resources (aka "Port Quotas" in the league challenge) are requests from each port that request a specific quantity of a crop or resource, and a multiplier.
- Sending resources matching the Port Quota applies that multplier both to their contribution to shipment value, and to the number of that resource sent. (e.g. Sending 500 Wheat with a multiplier of 50% grants the same rewards as 750 Wheat to a port not requesting it.)
- Ores and bars are interchangeable. Bars count 5x to the Port Quota cap compared to their ore versions and contribute approximately 4x to Shipment Value. As ores are converted 1:1 to bars via smithing, this makes bars more efficient per unit resource, at the cost of additional time for smelting.
- Fulfilling quotas will also add an additional reward, typically a unique item.
- Port Quotas can be completed over several shipments and do not expire.
- Port Quotas refresh once completed, randomizing the requested resource type, quantity, and multiplier.
- As more Port Quotas are completed, the tier of Port Quota also improves globally across all ports, increasing the types, quantity, and multiplier of resources requested. The cap for Port Quota tiers increases with each Shipping Rank.

Generic rewards
- Equipment: Item rewards use the "well-rolled" system, with items being of a higher basetype tier, item level and modifier tiers; higher base type defence percentile; and are more likely to have more sockets and links.
- Currency: The quantity and rarity of currency rewards are affected by the number of crops sent. Ore/bars do not affect currency rewards.
- Shipments use a weighted drop table based on the total effective amount of crops sent scaled by a logarithmic function. The higher the number, the more likely you receive rarer currency in the drop table, all the way up to a Mirror ShardMirror ShardStack Size: 20A stack of 20 shards becomes a Mirror of Kalandra.. Shipment value itself has no effect on the odds of receiving rarer currency.
- At 700,000, there is an approximate 50% chance to have a Divine Orb. At 50,000,000, there is an average of approximately 2.5 Mirror Shards per shipment.[3]
- Each crop/port combination has bias towards a specific currency reward. This is applied before the rarity condensing factor, and has a greater effect on rarer currencies.[4]
- There is a hard cap of 800 currency items received per shipment. This gets reduced to 500 if the shipment only contains one type of crop.
- Shipments use a weighted drop table based on the total effective amount of crops sent scaled by a logarithmic function. Dust
- Thaumaturgic Dust acts as a wildcard that adds to your shipment amount of non-dust resources, starting linearly 1:1, then exhibiting diminishing returns for any additional dust[5]. For example, 5000 value of crops provides the same rewards as 2500 value of crops and 2500 value of dust.
- This wildcard effect is split between all your shipped resources, which means shipments with mixed resources will cause Thaumaturgic Dust to have a diminished effect on specific rewards from each resource.
- Generic rewards from dust are proportional to a percentage of the ratios of other resources sent, including crops.
- Dust does not contribute to Port Quotas.
- Dust has no impact on the number or rarity of Runes or Tattoos acquired.

Kalguuran Map Device
Assign workers to become Atlas Runners using a Kalguuran Map Device, who attempt to clear a queue of maps while you complete other tasks and farm loot for you. Maps may become only partially completed, resulting in reduced loot. Maximizing expected map completion % appears to have the greatest impact on the rewards received. The estimated map completion percentage and chance of a worker dying is depends on the map's tier and modifier and the total Mapping level of your assigned workers. The queue is paused if a worker dies.
Rewards from mapping can include items exclusive to league mechanics and bosses, such as unique cluster jewels and Abyss uniques They can even bypass certain restrictions and obtain items such as Sacred Crystallised LifeforceSacred Crystallised LifeforceStack Size: 10Can be used at the Horticrafting bench in your hideout. or item level 85 Ritual base types.
Holding CTRL while clicking "discard all" will bypass the warning.
Atlas Runners are not affected by the player's Atlas of Worlds or Atlas passive skill tree and ignore scrying. Unique maps cannot be used.

Trivia
- Kingsmarch is the Act 4 town in Path of Exile 2.
- There is an extremely rare chance that a worker can have job specialty levels in Fishing. However, there does not appear to be any way to access fishing as a task. The datamined Gold cost for upgrading each rank of Fishing can be translated into ASCII to read "long season", and the Effishency upgrades +98%/+12%/+28% appear to be a reference to the album Long Season by the band Fishmans. Coincidentally, Settlers league was also the longest "season" to date.
