The Currency Exchange Market is a game mechanic that can be unlocked as a service in trade-enabled (non-SSF) versions of the Settlers league. It cannot be accessed in permanent leagues or the Solo Self-Found game mode.

This service can be accessed through Faustus, the Financier by selecting the Currency Exchange dialogue option (or CTRL+left clicking his NPC model). He can be found at Kingsmarch or invited to your hideout.

Placing an order

Players will first need to place an order by selecting an item to trade for ("I Want"), and to trade away ("I Have"). Players can select any currency, fragment, divination card, fossil, resonator, omen, or item that can go into a Currency Stash Tab flex slot. Items to be traded away can be pulled from most of your stash tabs as well as your inventory.

When in the "I Want" menu, the "Popular" section will include the 12 items with highest trade volume for the item in the "I Have" slot. It is recommended to pick one of these items for timely exchanges.

Hovering over "Market Ratio" will display several ratios for the selected exchange available as well as the total available stock.

Each order will require a nominal cost in Gold which scales linearly with the ratio of the exchange. This cost is intended to limit the usage of the Currency Exchange Market in the early campaign to hinder bots and hideout warriors but is unlikely to affect players actively playing the game. The gold cost per item is fixed per item, and generally scale based on the item's rarity.

Placing an order will add it to the Currency Exchange menu interface and can immediately start being fulfilled in real time. An order can be closed at any time, even when only partially filled, after which the exchanged currency can be collected. Closing an order will not refund Gold. There is a limit of 10 orders that can be placed at once. The limit is shared across all leagues but orders can't be managed in other leagues. Orders in other leagues are only visible and grayed out.

Completing an order

Once an order has been completed, players will receive a notification: Faustus has completed one of your Currency Exchange orders. Additionally, if any orders are completed, Faustus will have a hand and gold bag symbol and have a beam of light above his NPC model.

The exchanged currency can be moved to your inventory in the following ways:

  • Manually click and drop into your inventory.
  • CTRL + left click to move a full stack. (Press Square/X on Playstation/Xbox controllers)
  • CTRL + right click to move as many stacks as can fit in your inventory. (Hold Square/X on Playstation/Xbox controllers)
