Counterattack

Counterattacks are a type of attack skill which cannot be directly used, but instead triggers based on a specific condition to deal damage to the enemy or enemies that triggered it. Counterattacks are considered melee damage and cannot be used with wands or bows.

Mechanics

Counterattacks are targeted towards the enemy that triggered it.

Strike counterattacks are affected by modifiers to additional strikes.

Like other trigger skills, counterattack cooldown is affected by modifiers to cooldown reduction and is not scaled by modifiers to attack speed.

Counterattacks, despite being considered trigger skills, are still capable of being supported by and enabling trigger support gems, e.g. Martyr of InnocenceMartyr of Innocence
