Corrupted Blood is a debuff that inflicts physical damage over time to the affected target. It should not be confused with bleeding, an ailment with a similar effect.

Mechanics

Corrupted Blood is a stacking debuff. An indefinite number of stacks can exist, but only the 10 highest DPS stacks on a target will deal damage. Inflicting a new stack on a target will refresh the duration of all existing Corrupted Blood debuffs, regardless of the newest stack's DPS or source.[1]

When inflicted by enemies, Corrupted Blood's damage is based on the level of the monster that applied it.

Mitigation

Because armour does not grant damage reduction against damage over time, only additional damage reduction mitigates Corrupted Blood, for example from endurance charges. It can also be mitigated by modifiers to damage taken, such as the Pantheon's Soul of Ralakesh or Immortal CallImmortal CallSpell, Duration, Guard

Corrupted Blood can also be completely avoided by using a jewel with the corrupted implicit modifier Corrupted Blood cannot be inflicted on you. Enemy sources

  • Hitting, or being hit by a monster with the Corrupting monster mod gives one stack.
  • Being hit by the red orbs created by monsters possessing an Essence of Greed gives one stack.
  • Standing in the Rain of Blood created by Dominus' final form gives one stack per second.
  • Being hit by the Cleave attack of Dominus' final form gives two stacks.
  • Being hit by the Cleave attack of Q'ura (or K'aj Q'ura, the map variant in Vaal Temple MapVaal Temple MapMap Level: 83

  • The Corrupted Blood debuff has been updated. It now has a maximum stack size of 10 and is now consistently treated as being completely separate from Bleeding.
