The prophecy system was removed from the game in version 3.17.0. Itemised prophecies no longer exist in Path of Exile.

Notes

It will only trigger in the Ancient Pyramid, however NOT in The Apex of Sacrifice, The Alluring Abyss, or Maze Map. The map variants of Vaal Oversoul have different names: Vessel of the Vaal and Shadow of the Vaal respectively.

Version history

Version	Changes
3.17.0	Removed the Prophecy mechanic from the game, and moved many of its rewards to other content. Silver Coins can no longer drop. Existing Silver Coins and itemised Prophecies will be deleted from your inventory and stash the next time you log in after the launch of 3.17.0.
3.1.0	You are no longer required to have the subject of a fated unique Prophecy equipped, and can now complete such prophecies by merely holding the unique item in your inventory while killing the correct boss.
3.0.0	Many Prophecies have been reworked for compatibility in Acts 5 and upwards. Prophecies are no longer bound to a specific difficulty and can be triggered and completed in any relevant area. Some Prophecies, such as several of the Pale Council chain steps, now take place in new locations.
