Example of the vendor recipe system

The vendor recipe system allows the player to sell items to any town vendor in exchange for a multitude of currency items and equipment. Each recipe requires semi-specific items or combinations of items be put into the sell window at the same time, and the outcome will change based on any recipes that have been matched. Unless noted otherwise, each item may only be involved in a single recipe at a time.

Items (and their costs) sold by vendors as part of their normal inventory are not considered vendor recipes and are not listed here.

Direct Purchases from Vendor

Most orbs are purchasable vendors, and can thus be ranked like coins in normal currency. There are several progression tables below showing who sells what and what their equivalent value is in a measurable orbs.

Currency items that have shards/fragments are italicised.

Single Item With Mods

These recipes result from selling a single item and are based on its mods. This is the simplest and easiest way of selling items, though more complex recipes can be more profitable.

Some notes on identifying items:

  • It takes 16 Orbs of Transmutation to make a single Orb of Alteration, one Alteration Shard could be considered worth 16 Transmutation Shards.
  • It takes 21 Scrolls of Wisdom to make one Orb of Transmutation. Alternatively, one Orb of Transmutation degrades into 4 Scrolls of Wisdom when sold. Therefore, a Scroll of Wisdom is worth between one and five Transmutation Shards.
  • An identified magic or rare item usually produces multiple Alteration Shards.

Therefore from a purely financial perspective it is in the player's best interest to use any extra Scrolls of Wisdom to identify items they plan to sell unless they are planning to use a higher-power recipe that requires unidentified items. This is true even if it requires degrading Portal Scrolls or Orbs of Transmutation to acquire Scrolls of Wisdom.

Scroll Fragment

This is the "default" recipe. If an item does not have any more powerful recipe, it defaults to producing a Scroll Fragment. 5 Scroll Fragments automatically combine to form a Scroll of Wisdom.

Result Value in Alts Recipes
Scroll Fragment ×1 ~0.0006

  • item (magic, unidentified) ×1
