This...is not true. I had a Tier 1 Desert Map drop in late Cruel difficulty with an item level of 58. Master Zoen (talk) 21:53, 5 September 2016 (UTC)

"a rare monster can drop +1 maps"

Isn't it +2 ? Or is it different from the item levels (+2 from rares and unique mobs) ? --Har3st (talk) 03:59, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

You can only get +2 from the map boss. This was changed in a patch a while ago --OmegaK2 (t|c) 05:34, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

Untainted Paradise

On the linked picture of the completed atlas there is a map right next to Tropical Island which (according to other sources ...) is supposed to be Untainted Paradise. I just got that map as a daily from Zana but after completing it, nothing shows on my atlas. Is the linked picture wrong/a fake? SoilnRock (talk)

Influenced Areas -- Memory Fragments

Not sure when this change happened, but the memory fragments from killing elder guardians is no longer only from red maps.

Actually, it seems the Shaper's Orb page already has this covered in detail. I just updated this page to reflect it, as I can personally confirm a good chunk of what it says. --777 (talk) 06:22, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

Watchstone drops

I removed the part that I wrote up about optimizing Watchstones. I thought that's how the system worked but it's probably utter bollocks. Currently testing a bit and I fear the actual system might be extremely, EXTREMELY MIND-BOGGINGLY STUPID, so we will see. It just bugged. Streamer suggests to use white map to spawn the Boss in case bugged. And to me, after 50 red maps in right tier in inner regions, white map worked (i got all 16 Stones from outer region). Neokowloon (talk) 01:29, 26 December 2019 (UTC)
I think I understand the system now and it's one that allows you to kneecap your atlas progression if you don't pay attention but optimizing it for a smooth experience is also doable. So I'll update the section again. --DoomBee (talk) 19:43, 27 December 2019 (UTC)

I am 16 before patch. As the patch stated "incorrectly one less encounter before Sirus", will test it is 16 or 20 in league character. But sound legit as you supposed need to deal with 4 Watchstones variant of the Boss not 3. Neokowloon (talk) 05:25, 28 December 2019 (UTC)

Influence spawning Demonstration

These are some screenshots that demonstrate how it is possible to reliably spawn exactly the right influence in order to obtain missing Watchstones.

Some important factors to note:

  • Screenshots were taken post-Awakener.
  • Screenshots titled "Cycle 1" are from between two Awakener encounters, hence belonging to the same Conquerors-cycle.
  • Screenshots titled "Cycle 2" are from between two Awakener encounters, hence belonging to the same Conquerors-cycle.
  • The Conquerors influencing the regions in the screenshots were not previously defeated during that cycle.
  • Each Conqueror can be defeated exactly once in each cycle.
  • Having Zana open portals to the Awakener encounter resets the cycle, making all Conqueror able to influence regions once more.
  • If there are unobtained Watchstones in a region, the game will spawn one respective Conqueror. Provided they were not already defeated previously during the current cycle or aren't currently influencing another region.

As can be seen green influence was reliably spawned in New Vastir, where the green Watchstone was missing. Directly after obtaining that Wachstone the still available red influence was triggered in Glennach Cairns, where the red Watchstone was still unobtained.

After an Awakener encounter the cycle was reset, making all four influences available again. In this Cycle 2 the yellow influence was reliably triggered in Tirn's End, which was still missing the yellow Watchstone. In Lex Proxima, where the green Watchstone was unobtained, the green influence was triggered directly afterwards. The yellow influence is still shown in the last two picture.

DoomBee

DoomBee , seem you speculation on the mechanics did not work any more in 3.10 . For example, the white map strategy seem removed, thus your speculation:

"While this looks like a loophole, this mechanic is important because once influence is triggered you no longer have access to the Watchstones socketed in that region. This could create a scenario where someone immediately sockets the first four obtained Watchstones in one region, runs a map of the corresponding tier, triggers influence and loses access to the only four Watchstones. If no more maps of the current tier are available, it would mean having them missing for potentially a long time. The possibility to progress the encounter with lower tier maps, even white ones, averts this scenario entirely.".

I mean, yeah. A lot got changed. Already during 3.9 they changed that you can still access your watchstones after spawning influence, which addressed the issue. Up until then using lower tier maps was a necessity to get them back if you didn't have the current tier. --DoomBee (talk) 22:24, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
