Petrify (or Petrified) is a debuff. Similarly to being frozen, petrified modifies the player's action speed by reducing it by 100%. Effects that prevent or minimize lowering of action speed, like Trickster's One Step Ahead, Juggernaut's Unstoppable, Kaom's RootsKaom's Roots

Unwavering StanceDon't flinch. It's a waste of good hitting time., or some Scourge modifiers, will prevent the player from being stuck in place and unable to use any skills. Petrified can only be removed by waiting out its debuff duration.

Petrified is most commonly inflicted through Petrification Statues, a totem-like object depicting a gorgon (a humanoid with snakes as hair). Petrification Statues will inflict a stacking debuff on enemies looking toward it that causes Petrified after a certain number of stacks. These stacks can be removed by physically turning around away from the statue.
