This is a guide on the subject of endgame progression.

Last updated on December 31, 2021‎.

This guide will show you how to discover The Envoy, how to find The Maven, and how to complete The Maven's Crucible in the Atlas of Worlds. It will also show you how to complete your Atlas and encounter Sirus, the endgame Atlas boss.

Unlocking Kirac

Skip this section if you have Kirac in your hideout.

Step Image Mechanic
1 Kirac will unlock as part of the quest A Call to Arms. Upon entering Karui Shores for the first time, talk to Helena. He will direct the player to the War Room to find and talk to Commander Kirac. He will give the player a Tier 1 map.
2 Use that map (or any other gained during the Acts) on the Map DeviceMap DeviceHideout ItemCreates an object in your hideout2 Variations and activate it. Enter any of the portals and explore the map. Defeat the Map Boss and return to Commander Kirac to complete the quest. Doing so for unlocks Kirac in your hideout.
3 Return to your hideout and Kirac should be visible. If he is not, add him into your hideout using the Decorations panel.

Atlas Progression

Step Image Mechanic
1 In order to progress your atlas, lower tier maps have to be completed to get access to atlas skill points and higher tier maps. Maps are completed when you kill the map boss for the first time.

The message on the left shows after you have been granted the Bonus for a map by killing the boss of a Magic or higher version of the map.

2 If you have the map stash tab, the indicator lines under a map tell you which bonus you have obtained:
  1. Upon completion, a pale line show under the map.
  2. If the line is bold, it means that you have obtained the Atlas Bonus by killing the boss once in a Magic/Rare/Corrupted Rare version of the map.
3 Open your Atlas to see the number of maps for which you have the Atlas Bonus.
4 Begin by completing white maps from Tier 1 to Tier 5.

This means to run or obtain any map that does NOT have the indicator lines in the map stash tab.

Use the Atlas Passive Skill Tree to invest in Kirac and Maps to increase the drop rates for connected and higher level maps.

5 You will naturally obtain map drops. If you need higher tier maps, you collect sets of 3 of the same map (white maps), and vendor them for 1 map of the higher tier.

Tier 5 white maps will convert into Tier 6 yellow maps.

6 Check Kirac's store daily for new maps. After you have completed the white maps, he will begin offering yellow and red maps. Buying from his store is often cheaper than buying from other players.
7 Now that you have completed a number of white maps, you should continue progressing into yellow (Tiers 6 to 10) and red maps (Tiers 11 to 15).

The Maven's Invitation

Skip this section if you already have a Maven's Invitation.

Step Image Mechanic
1 After reaching yellow maps, The Envoy will eventually make an appearance. The Envoy will be highlighted and will mention that The Maven will be observing you.
2 Kill the map boss, and as you can see The Maven is present in the boss arena and observing the battle.
3 After slaying the boss, The Maven will drop The Maven's BeaconThe Maven's BeaconAllows you to call the Maven to a map from your Map Device.Right-click this item then left-click the Map Device in your Hideout to attach the Maven's Beacon., which is an untradable quest item. Pick it up.
4 Return to your hideout and add the Maven's Beacon into your Map DeviceMap DeviceHideout ItemCreates an object in your hideout2 Variations by right-clicking the Beacon and clicking your Map Device.

This permanently upgrades your Map Device, giving you the ability to summon The Maven on your maps.

5 The Maven (Quest) will instruct you to defeat 3 Bosses of Tier 6+ Map with the Maven observing the battle.

Click on the Call The Maven button which requests the The Maven to observe your battle.

6 Complete a Tier 6+ Map and slay the boss again, you'll notice that The Maven pulsates to indicate that she is pleased.
7 Once you have slain a map boss in The Maven's presence, it will show this message on the map:

The Maven currently holds a recreation of this Map's Boss

There is no point running this map as you cannot progress towards the The Maven's Challenge.

8 TBD After killing the third Tier 6+ boss observed by The Maven, she will drop an invitation. Pick it up.
9 The Maven's Invitation is a map fragment, so add it into your Map DeviceMap DeviceHideout ItemCreates an object in your hideout2 Variations and run it.
10 6 portals will open into The Maven's Crucible. Enter it to begin The Maven's Challenge.
11 All the bosses you have slain and captured will now be displayed in this realm. The Maven will be observing you.

Go to the center of the area and click the device to start the encounter.

12 Defeat all of the bosses that have now re-appeared within the Maven's Crucible.
13 You will be given a passive atlas skill point. You can use The Maven's Gift at the center of the arena to allocate skill points into your Atlas passive skill tree.

Tip: If you are unsure what skills to allocate, close the interface and exit the Crucible. You can allocate your atlas skill points at anytime by opening your Atlas and clicking on the regional citadel button (the icon in the center of the citadel interface).

14 After you are done, use the portals to return to your hideout.

Eater of Worlds, The Searing Exarch and Voidstones

Skip this section if you know how to find Eater of Worlds, The Searing Exarch and how to use Voidstones.

Step Image Mechanic
1 Keep running maps. Once you have reached one of the four corner regions of the atlas (Haewark Hamlet, Lex Ejoris, New Vastir, or Lira Arthain), you will encounter your first influenced map.

"Influnced" maps meaning that one of the Conquerors have arrived on the map and by completing the map you are one step closer to finding their citadel.

In this example map, we see icy effects and the appearance of ice golems and dinosaurs, indicating that the map is influenced by Veritania, the Redeemer, the "icy lady".

2 After completing an influenced map in the region, if you open the Atlas of Worlds you will see the Influenced region colored.

Since Veritania, the Redeemer has the light blue color representing ice, the region is colored light blue.

Also, the indicator bar (top left of image) shows that we have chased her in 1 map (1 yellow box), and 2 maps are yet to be done (2 blue boxes) to find her citadel.

Note: The UI depicted in the picture to the left will appear after your first Conqueror kill.

3 Complete more maps in the same region to chase Veritania.

is within the influenced region and thus by completing any map in that region you will be one step closer to finding her citadel.

4 After completing the given amount of maps in the same region and chasing down the Conqueror, Kirac and Zana will become highlighted with a quest icon in your hideout.

Talk to Kirac in your hideout to locate the Conqueror, then talk to Zana and select "Travel to [Conqueror's] Citadel".

5 Your map device will open a special set of portals to the Conqueror's citadel. The portals are colored purple, as shown.
6 Complete the map as usual, and defeat the map boss.
7 After defeating the map boss, a special portal will open to the Conqueror's arena, next to the carcass of the dead boss.

Enter the portal.

8 Face off against the Conqueror, in this case Veritania, the Redeemer.

You have 6 tries in total to kill her, after which all the portals to the citadel will close and you will have failed to kill the Conqueror. In this case you will have to repeat from step 1.

9 Once you slay the Conqueror, they will drop a Watchstone.

They will drop either one of these:

  • Cobalt WatchstoneCobalt WatchstoneThe memories and emotions of countless victims of the Elder,
    locked in stone for eternity.
Socket this into a Citadel on your Atlas to increase the Tier of Maps and reveal hidden Maps in that Citadel's Region. You can only socket one Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt or Golden Watchstone into each Citadel.
  • Crimson WatchstoneCrimson WatchstoneThe memories and emotions of countless victims of the Elder,
    locked in stone for eternity.
Socket this into a Citadel on your Atlas to increase the Tier of Maps and reveal hidden Maps in that Citadel's Region. You can only socket one Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt or Golden Watchstone into each Citadel.
  • Golden WatchstoneGolden WatchstoneThe memories and emotions of countless victims of the Elder,
    locked in stone for eternity.
Socket this into a Citadel on your Atlas to increase the Tier of Maps and reveal hidden Maps in that Citadel's Region. You can only socket one Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt or Golden Watchstone into each Citadel.
  • Viridian WatchstoneViridian WatchstoneThe memories and emotions of countless victims of the Elder,
    locked in stone for eternity.
Socket this into a Citadel on your Atlas to increase the Tier of Maps and reveal hidden Maps in that Citadel's Region. You can only socket one Crimson, Viridian, Cobalt or Golden Watchstone into each Citadel.
10 Pick up the Watchstone and click on the Watchstone Altar (shown in image).
11 The Atlas will open, and if it is your first Conqueror in the region, a new citadel interface will be displayed in that region, that allows you to socket your watchstone in.
12 Place your watchstone into the socket of the matching color, as shown.
13 As you are running the maps you will encounter The Envoy from time to time. Complete the questlines to defeat bosses and obtain Voidstones. Socket Voidstones in your atlas to increase the minimum level of your maps.

There are currently four different Voidstones obtainable by defeating in approximate order of difficulty:

14 If you have sextants like Awakened SextantAwakened SextantStack Size: 10Adds or rerolls a modifier on a VoidstoneRight click this item then left click a Voidstone to apply it. or Elevated SextantElevated SextantStack Size: 10Adds or rerolls a modifier on a VoidstoneRight click this item then left click a Voidstone to apply it. you can right-click the sextant and left-click on any voidstone to add mods to the voidstone. This usually increases mob sizes (more XP) and increases drops (more item quantity).

Rolling over a voidstone will show you the mods it has. If sextants are expensive, just use one, otherwise you can re-roll it many times to get the mod you want (if any).

A Surveyor's CompassSurveyor's CompassStack Size: 10Stores a Sextant Modifier in an itemRight click on this item then left click on a Voidstone to itemise an applied Sextant Modifier. can be used to save useful sextant modifiers from voidstones until you reach a situation where the modifier will be most useful or if you wish to trade them to other players.

Favorite Maps

Step Image Mechanic
1 In order to obtain more of a specific map, you can favorite it. But to favorite a map you need to first unlock the favorite slots.

There are 3 map favorite slots per region:

  1. Unlock the first favorite slot by completing all non-unique maps in the region (just run the map and kill the boss)
  2. Unlock the second favorite slot by completing the Atlas bonus for all non-unique maps in the region
  3. Unlock the third favorite slot by completing the Awakening bonus for all non-unique maps in the region
2 To favorite a map:
  1. Open the Atlas and click on the favorite slot (circular icon) within the region on the left pane.
  2. Then click on a map to favorite it.
  3. The map's icon and name will show within the region on the left pane.

You can change your favorites at any time. Favoriting the same map multiple times will increase the chances of it dropping.

3 To check which map you have not yet obtained the Atlas Awakening bonus for, roll-over the map item while pressing Alt.

Fifth Map Device Slot

Step Image Mechanic
1 In order to unlock the fifth map device slot, you need to complete a Domain of Timeless Conflict encounter.

All players in the group will get the fifth slot unlocked.

The encounter can be started by activating the map device with 4 or more Timeless Emblems:

  • Timeless Karui EmblemTimeless Karui EmblemPlace two or more different Emblems in a Map Device to access the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Can only be used once.
  • Timeless Vaal EmblemTimeless Vaal EmblemPlace two or more different Emblems in a Map Device to access the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Can only be used once.
  • Timeless Eternal EmblemTimeless Eternal EmblemPlace two or more different Emblems in a Map Device to access the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Can only be used once.

  • Timeless Templar EmblemTimeless Templar EmblemPlace two or more different Emblems in a Map Device to access the Domain of Timeless Conflict. Can only be used once.
2 After the group (or the host) kills all the legion monsters in the map, you unlock the fifth map device slot.

You can use the fifth slot to place one extra scarab or map fragment for more "juiced up" map runs.

There are 3 tiers of maps, indicated by the color on the map icon. White maps are the most common and cheap. Yellow maps are more expensive.
